Carol Service for Deaf and Deafblind people

Schools from across Essex attended the annual carol service for Deaf and Deafblind people held at Chelmsford Cathedral on Friday 9th December. Held in partnership with Royal Association for Deaf people, the Diocese of Chelmsford and the diocesan team of Chaplains among Deaf people, the service was attended by 500 people with signed songs from eight schools: Mildmay Infant & Junior, Lexden Infant & Junior, Sweyne Park, Great Baddow High, Philip Morant, Glebe Junior & Infant, Ghyllgrove and Sanders Draper. RAD's Life Skills Group also took part signing the carol; ‘We Three Kings’. Readings were given by RAD Trustee, Ann Goldfinch and members of the Deaf community. The photo shows Philip Morant pupils rehearsing "Star Carol" by John Rutter. Next year’s carol service will take place on 14th December. RAD and the diocesan team of Chaplains among Deaf people would like to thank the many volunteers whose support on the day made this event possible. carol.service
