Child Protection
The Royal Association for Deaf people has Child Protection as one of its highest priorities. All our staff and volunteers working with children and young people undergo an Enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check before starting work for the organisation. These checks are repeated every two years. Our staff and volunteers go through a full induction process; this includes signing-up to RAD's Policies and Procedures, including our policies on Child Protection, Confidentiality and Health & Safety. All our staff are trained in Child Protection and where RAD staff have sole responsibility for children / young people we ensure we have a ratio of one staff member or volunteer for every five children or young people. For all events organised by RAD staff a full risk assessment is completed to help ensure the safety of all those attending.
If you have any concerns about the conduct of RAD staff, volunteers or the safety and wellbeing of children and young people attending any of our events, please contact the Head of Children, Youth & Families Services, Andrew Eadie.
