The Royal Association for Deaf people partners with Citizens Advice Peterborough to provide Information, Advice and Guidance services


Citizens Advice Peterborough (CAP) is working in partnership with RAD to provide Information, Advice and Guidance to the local Deaf community in their first or preferred language; such as British Sign Language (BSL), Signed Supported English (SSE) or Deafblind manual/hands on. All advice workers are either Deaf themselves or fluent in BSL.

The service began on 3rd August 2017 and will be delivered by appointment on a fortnightly basis on a Thursday at: 16-17 St Marks Street, Peterborough, PE1 2TU between 10am-4pm.

RAD’s qualified advisors provide rights-based information and advice on:

  • Financial matters including benefits and debt
  • Housing matters
  • Employment
  • Discrimination
  • Access to appropriate health and social care services

We can also help with:

  • Understanding correspondence
  • Completion of forms
  • Signposting
  • Referrals to other services
  • Booking interpreters
