Citizens Advice Peterborough (CAP) is working in partnership with RAD to provide Information, Advice and Guidance to the local Deaf community in their first or preferred language; such as British Sign Language (BSL), Signed Supported English (SSE), Makaton, or Deafblind manual/hands on. All advice workers are either Deaf themselves or fluent in BSL.
The service began on 3rd August 2017 and will be delivered by appointment on a fortnightly basis on a Thursday at: 16-17 St Marks Street, Peterborough, PE1 2TU between 10am-4pm.
Appointments can be booked in person at CAP reception desk or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
RAD’s qualified advisors provide rights-based information and advice on:
- Financial matters including benefits and debt
- Housing matters
- Access to appropriate health and social care services
We can also help with:
- Understanding correspondence
- Completion of forms
- Referrals to other services
- Booking interpreters
