What People Say About Us

“All the teaching staff have come to me and said they have each noticed the change and development of all the students. We cannot believe the change they have made with the support from RAD. We hope that we can continue receiving this brilliant service.”

Deputy Head, Blanche Neville School, London

“I joined the Transition service with RAD and was immediately in my comfort zone. As a BSL sign language user I could engage straight away with my mentor. This meant that I was able to express my issues and difficulties much easier. My mentor helped me develop my confidence by supporting me attend workshops where I was able to learn new skills and better improve those I already had. After a few months I felt able to apply for jobs and work placements. I was lucky enough to get a placement at Wickes as a Kitchen Interior designer. Here I learnt a lot about how to cope in a mainstream working world, thankfully the store and staff was D/deaf friendly and helped me out.

This placement has opened my eyes and made me want to go onto further education and get a degree in architecture. If it wasn’t for the support and mentoring from my mentor I would have not been in a position where I am today. I was lucky enough to join the Talent Match London (TML) Youth board and this has not only made my CV look better but aided in my social skills. Without the support from RAD I would have been at home bored, not having anything to do. Thankfully I found this support and was able to plan my future and career effectively.”
