Social Care
We support Deaf adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health challenges to live as independently as possible. Services include one-to-one support in the community, social and self-expression groups, communication support and training, advocacy and hearing assessments. We also provide Makaton and alternative communication training for adults with learning disabilities, carers, parents and care workers.
We encourage Deaf adults who care for family members full-time to recognise themselves as carers and provide them with information and support.
We work with older Deaf people to run support groups and are developing services for older Deaf people with complex needs such as Alzheimer's and stroke.
