Boots staff parachute from 13,000 feet to raise vital funds for the Royal Association for Deaf people
Jumping out of an aeroplane at 13,000 feet is a scary thought for a lot of people.
But for staff at Boots stores in and around Colchester, it was all about the adrenaline rush.
Chris Evans, Store Manager, Boots Greenstead said ‘As charity lead for our area at Boots I thought this would be a fantastic fundraising idea but had no idea it would be so popular amongst the Boots team. The whole team jumped and we have raised over £5000 for RAD. The jump was a fantastic experience and such a good way to raise money for an excellent cause.’
Katie Girling-Weeks, Fundraising Manager, Royal Association for Deaf people said ‘We were delighted that the Boots team agreed to start off our first ever fundraising week, Royal Deaf Week, on Sunday 25th November with such an exciting activity. Thank you to the Boots team and everyone who has supported them.’
Launched for the first time this year, Royal Deaf Week aimed to raise vital funds for our important work supporting the Deaf community.
We encouraged fundraising veterans and novices to organise fundraising activities that not only supported our services but were also fun to be a part of.
