We understand the barriers that Deaf people face on their journey into employment and have a dedicated, specialist team who understand how to break down those barriers and achieve sustainable employment.
How do we deliver employment support?
Our specialist employment advisors achieve results by providing personalised employment support which is delivered in the Deaf person’s first language; usually British Sign Language (BSL).
We provide support to a variety of people and organisations, some are listed below:
People who are unemployed and job ready
Those who are far removed from the workplace
People with multiple and complex support needs
Employees/employers who have workplace difficulties
People who are leaving education
Our employability offer includes:
Job search and CV writing
Apprenticeships and traineeships
Support with Access to Work
Skills for employment
Managing difficulties in the workplace including mediation
We actively engage with Government offices, commissioners, partners and job centres. We also work closely with employers providing advice on a variety of topics including how the Government’s Access to Work Scheme can help pay towards the costs of communication support e.g. Sign Language Interpreters, as well as guidance on how to build an accessible workplace.
We firmly believe that by providing holistic support to both the employee and employer, a successful and long term working relationship can be easily achieved.
