Young People
We work in partnership with mainstream and specialist schools as well as local authorities in order to build strong links with young Deaf people.
Our Youth and Transition team provide tailored support to schools and local authorities via a number of services:
One-to-One support / Advice / Advocacy
Our experienced staff, who are either Deaf themselves or fluent in British Sign Language (BSL), are available to support young Deaf people to make informed choices.
Family Sign
We provide tailored sessions to individual families to learn British Sign Language (BSL) in order to establish effective and meaningful family conversation and improving relationships
Befriending service
Our befriending service helps reduce isolation and increase confidence.
Mentoring
Our mentoring programme provides a safe and stable environment for young Deaf people to develop their identity.
Workshops
We develop and deliver topical workshops aimed at young Deaf people.
Integr8
In-school support for young Deaf people at risk of exclusion.
Activities
We organise activities specifically designed for young Deaf people and their families. We also organise access to communication support at mainstream activities. Take a look at our upcoming activities.
Duke of Edinburgh Award (South East)
We can provide accessible DofE programmes, tailored to meet the learning needs of children and young people – developing talent and skills.
Careers Advice Service
Delivered in schools and at our Youth Hub in London.
Money Mechanics
A ground-breaking financial education programme aimed at boosting the financial literacy and confidence of young Deaf people. Learn more about Money Mechanics on our project page.
